Silicon Genetics Introduces BioScript Library

15-May-2003
silicon Genetics today released the BioScript Library for use with its GeneSpring® and GeNetTM software solutions. This collection of over 40 scripts delivers a powerful tool set for automating the most common analytical projects challenging functional genomics labs today. The BioScript Library is based on the visual scripting capabilities of GeneSpring - a widely used Expression analysis software package. GeneSpring's scripting facility allows researchers to record multiple steps within complex procedures for execution at the push of a button. This powerful facility automates repetitive or time-consuming tasks, and ensures consistent practices within large research groups or throughout long-term studies. The scope of the BioScript Library is broad, spanning the complete analysis process. It includes tools for expression data quality control, statistical analysis, and queries across the GeNet repository. Each script contains drag-and-drop building blocks that are annotated in detail, empowering researchers with minimal scripting experience to understand the logic behind the analysis and modify the scripts to suit their particular study and workflow. "Many of our customers find GeneSpring's visual scripting to be a huge boost to lab productivity," stated Kevin Wandryk, vice president of marketing and business development for Silicon Genetics. "Analytical procedures that used to take hours of detailed and painstaking work can now be reliably replicated in minutes. With the wealth of tools showcased in the BioScript Library, our goal is to help researchers stay focused on the important part of their work - finding biologically significant results."
