'Dynamic' Phlexglobal Impresses Judges To Secure Investors In People Status

16-Jul-2007

Phlexglobal Ltd, the specialist CRO for clinical trial administration and study site support, has secured the coveted Investors in People (IiP) status and has been recognised by assessors as a model of excellence.

The company, which specialises in resourcing, training and clinical research services counts 15 of the top 20 pharmaceutical companies across the globe as its clients and is based in Amersham, Buckinghamshire.

Its imaginative and participative approach to business development and providing a first class service to customers were all singled out for praise by the IiP assessors after an intensive two-day audit, as was the way the company has coped with rapid growth and an expanding market share, which has made it the market leader in clinical trial administrative support.

Indeed, assessors went further, commenting: "Phlexglobal is a dynamic company - with an imaginative and participative approach to business development and providing first class service to customers. The management team are organised, effective and have plans for continuing improvement. They value and develop their staff and have established a sound foundation of good management practice.

"The company has exciting and challenging plans for continuing growth, and demonstrates how using the standard of Investors in People can provide a framework for success."

Investors in People is designed to recognise companies which genuinely train staff and recognise the importance of on-going personnel development. The process entailed a pre-audit by IiP assessors which was then followed by a much more detailed on-site audit.

Phlexglobal's head of training and personal development, Dr Gareth Hayes, believes it is the focus on quality, flexibility and adaptability which has allowed it to go from strength to strength in recent years, explaining:

"Delivering excellent service is not just about numbers, it requires our staff to focus on building relationship with clients, learning and understanding their business, their ethos and looking for the best fit. Training and education is key to our success and personal development programmes form a major part of our core business strategy.

"This success has been a team effort and it is fantastic for everyone that all of the hard work in building this thriving working environment and team spirit has been recognised and praised by such a well-respected body as Investors in People. However, we will not be resting on our laurels. This is a strong foundation to take the business even further forward as we enter a very exciting time of growth for the business."
