Elchrom Scientific selected by Isogen Life Sciences for purifying long oligos (50 to 150 mers) for gene synthesis applications

01-Nov-2004
Elchrom Scientific (Cham,CH) and Isogen Life Science (Maarssen, NL) announced they have entered into a technology licensing partnership for supplying ultra pure long oligos to the most demanding applications such as gene synthesis. Gene synthesis with longer oligos is anticipated to become the industry gold standard due to the cost and efficiency improvements brought by the availability of building blocks of high purity and improved manufacturing processes. With Elchrom Scientific's Oligo purification solutions, Isogen Life Science will be able to offer very long (50-150 mers) ultra pure oligos to its most demanding customers in gene synthesis worldwide on a very rapid delivery basis. Elchrom Scientific is a provider of leading solutions in the analysis and the purification of biomolecules, DNA, RNA and proteins. Elchrom's techologies improve operational efficiencies and reduce the Total Cost of Ownership for solutions covering applications in human, animal and plant genetics. Isogen Life Science Biomolecules Division has over fifteen years of experience offering a wide range of custom-made products for demanding applications in life science research. Isogen can now provide a wide range of chemically modified ultra pure oligonucleotides for the use in specialized applications in molecular biology, DNA sequencing and genetic analysis. Jean-Louis Roux dit Buisson, CEO of Elchrom Scientific AG., said, "We are delighted by the trust and confidence Isogen Life Science is putting in Elchrom. This partnership highlights the quality of our non-toxic solutions for the most demanding applications such as gene synthesis, where the short-term availability of long and ultra-pure oligonucleotides equates unmatched competitive advantage. It also confirms that our modular platform economically serves the needs of larger and smaller players with the same degree of performance and satisfaction. We trust that Isogen is a partner of choice for the upcoming solutions for double labelled oligonucleotides and RNA ultrapurifications."
