Global Cell Solutions (GCS), delivering solutions for 3-D cell culture and cell-based applications, and Hamilton announced that they will collaborate to develop and market a bench top cell culture system, the BioLevitator(TM), that will be coupled with GCS' 3D cell culture substrate, the GEM(TM). This relationship will take advantage of Hamilton's expertise in robotics and liquid handling by incorporating the BioLevitator(TM) on Hamilton's STAR platform thereby enabling rapid growth and direct transfer of relevant cells for a variety of biological science and drug discovery applications.
"We are extremely pleased to have teamed up with Global Cell Solutions. As the global life sciences community continues to demand 3D solutions from laboratory suppliers, this relationship is poised to deliver on that need," remarked Andreas Wieland, CEO of Hamilton. "This agreement demonstrates our continued commitment and promise to provide the necessary solutions that will propel our customers to develop the next generation drug discoveries and therapeutics."
The terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
