Glasgow-Based Pharma Company Benefits from German Investment

ProPharma Limited's new facility at West of Scotland Science Park is up and running with the aim to create up to 31 new jobs. A further 29 jobs have been safeguarded.

The Glasgow based company, who specialise in the pre-clinical pharmaceutical formulation development and in the manufacture of sterile clinical trial supplies, was originally spun out of the University of Strathclyde in 2000 and Hamburg based Evotec OAI AG are now the majority shareholders of the business. The company has been assisted by Scottish Development International and Scottish Enterprise Glasgow.

Dr Sandy Allan, Managing Director of ProPharma Ltd, said: "We are thrilled to have secured our facility on the West of Scotland Science Park. As a young and dynamic company, this new facility gives us the operational and commercial platform to grow the company. ProPharma was founded on the skills and expertise of local people and we are delighted that with Regional Selective Assistance we are able to continue to serve our global customer base from Scotland."
