Polyethersulfone Microfilter

Efficient biotechnological filtration with PESU membranes in 0.1 µm pore size

Sartorius Stedim Biotech GmbH

PESU polyethersulfone membranes are membrane polymers that have become established in the biotechnological and pharmaceutical industries. The PESU membrane is a stable polymer with a broad pH and temperature spectrum. Due to the wide temperature range, the membrane can be steam sterilised or autoclaved. The regeneration, storage and depyrogenation of these membranes can be carried out with NaOH even at elevated temperatures. These properties make the PESU membrane ideal for biotechnological applications. The PESU cassettes are available with a pore size of 0.1 µm. Polyethersulfone membranes are designed for use in the biotechnological and pharmaceutical industries. They can be used to remove mammalian cells, clostridia, yeasts and salmonella as well as to reduce mycoplasma from liquids.

Product characteristics: Polyethersulfone withstands in-line steam sterilisation without any loss of integrity or change in the retention performance of the membrane. The retention capacity of the membrane is not affected by repeated use.

Compliance with regulatory requirements

All materials comply with current USP Biological Testing regulations. In terms of total solids, oxidisable substances, particulate contaminants, ammonium, chloride, nitrate, sulphate and the filtrate meets or exceeds the USP and EP requirements for sterile water for injection. Quality control: Each filter cassette is given its own serial number and is tested and certified for integrity. It meets the cGMP requirements for non-fibre-releasing filters and is listed by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) under the Drug Master File number DMF 5967.
