febit Files Patent Infringement Lawsuit Against Codon Devices

12-Jul-2007
febit biotech GmbH announced that it served a patent infringement lawsuit against Codon Devices Inc., Cambridge, MA, in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware. febit asserts that Codon Devices is infringing its issued U.S. Patent No. 6,586,211. febit considers U.S. Patent No. 6,586,211 the cornerstone of its portfolio of more than 15 patents and patent applications worldwide (including Europe, U.S. and Japan) claiming the exclusive use of microarrays for synthetic gene production. In the lawsuit, febit biotech GmbH seeks an injunction that would prevent Codon Devices from further misappropriating febit's technology and infringing febit's '211 patent. The lawsuit also seeks unspecified monetary damages arising from the Codon Devices' unauthorized use of the patented technology and the continuous wilful infringement of febit's '211 patent.
