29-Aug-2005

Macrogen Corp. announced that it will start to provide biotechnology researchers in Maryland with sequencing service from 26th this month. To this end, Macrogen Corp. has completed all necessary preparations for the service, including state-of-the-art gene analysis equipments in the Rockville MTDC, and experts for the sequencing analysis and the service.

The company is expecting a great result since Montgomery County, its location, is a typical "bio-cluster" with many biotech companies and the private-, or government-funded institutes including NIH and FDA, and therefore it can expect excellent researching environment and support from the state government. Dr. Jin-han Hong, the CEO of this company, said that it will apply the know-how and operating systems for sequencing that its parent company, Macrogen Inc. Korea, has accumulated for the last few years. He added that the company is planning to provide the researchers with the best "overnight express" sequencing for a low price, thereby helping their successful research activities.

Macrogen Corp. is planning to expand its gene analysis service to middle and western part of the U.S, as well as its business fields into DNA chips and genetically engineered mice.
