Schering-Plough Appoints Paul Medeiros Vice President, Global Licensing

Schering-Plough Corporation announced that Paul Medeiros has been appointed vice president, Global Licensing, effective immediately. He is based in Kenilworth and reports to Michael J. DuBois, senior vice president, Global Licensing.

In this role, Medeiros leads worldwide specialty product licensing activity for the company, including the evaluation, negotiation and execution of licenses and other strategic alliances with pharmaceutical and biotechnology partners in physician specialist and hospital product categories. He also holds responsibility for development and implementation of customer-focused strategies for the acquisition of new product candidates to complement the company's internal clinical research programs.

Medeiros previously held a series of senior positions at Schering-Plough, most recently, executive director, Global Licensing. He joined Schering- Plough in 1996 as marketing planning director, and subsequently held positions of increasing responsibility in marketing and business development.

Prior to joining Schering-Plough, Medeiros was employed by Merck & Company where he held positions in Field Sales, New Product Planning and Worldwide Human Health Marketing.

Medeiros holds an A.B. with honors from Brown University and an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School. He is a member of the Licensing Executives Society and the American Marketing Association.
