Bayer Healthcare Selects Liquent's Insight Manager for Registrations to Improve Process Quality

18-Oct-2004

Brunthal, Germany. Liquent, Inc. today announced that Bayer Healthcare (BHC), an independent subgroup of Bayer AG, Leverkusen, has selected Liquent InSight(R) Manager for Registrations (IMR). InSight Manager for Registrations is part of the Liquent InSight product family - an integrated, browser-based solution set that manages documents, submissions and product registration details from the time they are created, to their use in regulatory submissions, through to the end of the product lifecycle. IMR's central repository enables global organizations to have the same view of product status, application status, and manufacturing details of pharmaceutical products and to ensure compliance.

With the help of IMR's centralized view and management of product details, marketing authorizations and registrations, Bayer can ensure they are shipping compliant products. InSight Manager for Registrations will allow Bayer to continue improving their communication between headquarters, worldwide affiliates and partners as they manage their global registrations and product harmonization. With IMR, BHC will be able to automate the data exchange with internal, external and regulatory authority systems, such as the Eudra Vigilance Medical Product Dictionary (EVMPD).

"We chose Liquent because they understand our business environment and demonstrated excellent commitment during our extensive selection process. The services and functionality provided with IMR will support our requirements," said Gerhard Schlueter, Head of Global Regulatory Operations at BHC Pharma." With Liquent's IMR state of the art browser-based architecture, flexible data model and intuitive user interface, Bayer will incorporate this solution into their existing enterprise-wide processes, knowing that they have the ability to perform enhancements at a much quicker pace and with a much lower cost of maintenance.

"Liquent's regulatory solutions - including InSight, CoreDossier, and EZsubs - support an expanding group of more than 400 clients worldwide which include many of the largest German pharmaceutical organizations and six recent new clients in Europe," said Jay Nadler, CEO of Liquent. "Life sciences organizations like Bayer Healthcare partner with Liquent because we are recognized as the market leader, we have a global presence to support their operations, we have the most regulatory expertise in the industry, and we have created InSight - the most complete regulatory product management solution designed to meet the needs of the changing regulatory environment. We look forward to working more closely with Bayer as they introduce IMR to their organization."
