Protiveris Recognized for Excellence in Technology Transfer
"It is an honor to be working closely with the Oak Ridge National Laboratory team on the commercial development of sensor technologies and to be recognized by the Federal Laboratory Commission for our work," said Robert Menzi, Chief Operating Officer at Protiveris. "Technology transfer is vital to advancing essential science and technology into the marketplace. Our efforts have been successful because of the commitment of the ORNL scientists and technology transfer officers to this ideal."
In December of 2003, Protiveris finalized an agreement with UT-Battelle to acquire the worldwide commercial rights to proprietary sensor technologies developed by scientists at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Protiveris is applying these sensor technologies to microcantilever measurements of biomolecular interactions.
Protiveris patent pending biosensor system -- the VeriScan(TM) 3000 -- utilizes arrays of microcantilevers to monitors and analyze protein interactions. Protiveris works closely with scientists and technology transfer officers at ORNL to speed the development and commercial use of the VeriScan 3000 system.
