Biosite Incorporated Expands Reach Into Europe
Company Adds Two New Offices in the United Kingdom and Belgium
SAN DIEGO, California - Biosite(R) Incorporated announced the launch of direct sales efforts in the United Kingdom, Belgium and Luxemburg. The Company will conduct direct sales of Triage(R) products, including the Triage Drugs of Abuse product line, Triage Cardiac Panel, Triage Cardio ProfilER, Triage BNP Test, Triage BNP Test for Beckman Coulter Immunoassay Systems and Triage microbiology product line, via two new subsidiaries.
Conor McGurk leads the subsidiary serving the United Kingdom, Biosite Limited, which is based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. McGurk and his team came to Biosite from its prior distributor in the United Kingdom, Biosyn. Biosite also began direct sales to customers in Belgium and Luxemburg through its subsidiary, Biosite BVBA. The sales teams in each territory, like Biosite's other subsidiaries in France and Germany, are supported by independent contractors providing warehousing and logistics.
"With the addition of these two new subsidiaries, Biosite can now provide direct sales service to customers in nearly all major markets in western Europe," said Gary King, vice president international operations. "This new alignment allows us to better focus on our existing customers, while at the same time allowing us to leverage resources that will help us grow our European business."
