Automated liquid handling solution for 96- and 384-well plates

The epMotion® 96 Flex is an intelligent 96-channel liquid handling system that redefines efficiency and precision in pipetting. With its compact design, it fits easily into biosafety cabinets and, thanks to the ergonomic user interface on the base of the device, offers convenient operation even in laminar flow workbenches.

Maximum flexibility thanks to interchangeable dispensing heads

The system covers a volume range from 0.5 to 1,000 µL with just two ISO 23783-2 calibrated dispensing heads. The tool-free exchange option of the heads enables quick adaptations to different applications. Less than 96 tips can also be used, for example in columns for serial dilutions.

Proven precision for reproducible results

Electronic pipetting with parallel piston movement ensures high accuracy and reproducibility. The 50/300 µL dispensing head achieves a systematic error of ≤ 4.5% and a random error of ≤ 2.5% at 5 µL. At 30 µL, the values improve to ≤ 2.5% and ≤ 1.5% respectively.

Significant time savings in practice

In molecular biology applications such as the magnetic bead-based purification of PCR products, the epMotion® 96 Flex saves around 40% time compared to conventional 8-channel pipettes. In cell-based assays, for example when seeding and measuring the cell viability of HeLa cells, time savings of around 22% are achieved.

Versatile application possibilities

The system is suitable for numerous applications in molecular biology and cell culture: DNA/RNA purification, magnetic bead-based cleanups for NGS library preparation, PCR and qPCR setup, plate coating and washing for ELISA, homogeneous cell seeding, media changes and serial dilutions. Thanks to the smart indexing function, 384-well plates can also be processed efficiently.

The intuitive software can be used with minimal training and without programming knowledge. Preset applications such as aspiration, dilution, sequential dispensing, multi-dispensing, small volume pipetting, prewetting and reverse pipetting make daily work easier. Individual parameters for aspiration and dispensing speed can be adapted to different liquid classes.
