Merck: Joachim Christ to Lead Corporate Controlling
Joachim Christ (46) completed an apprenticeship as an industrial management specialist and earned a degree in business administration while working for Hoechst AG. Starting in 1987, he held a variety of management positions of increasing responsibility, initially within Controlling at Hoechst AG and later on at its successor company, Aventis. During the course of his career he has held the positions of Controller for a Strategic Business Unit and Regional Controller for Europe/Middle East/Africa, as well as Controller for Global Production. On December 1, 2004, Christ took over the leadership of Corporate Controlling at Lanxess AG in Leverkusen to build this function in the newly created company, from where he will now be moving to Merck.
