Conrad Hal Waddington

Conrad Hal Waddington (* 8. November 1905 in Evesham; † 26. September 1975 in Edinburgh) war ein britischer Entwicklungsbiologe, Paläontologe, Genetiker, Embryologe und Philosoph. Er lieferte grundlegende Arbeiten zum Systembiologie.

Leben

Waddington studierte an der Cambridge University, wo er lecturer in Zoologie und Fellow des Christ's College wurde. Ab 1947 war er Professor und Leiter des Instituts für Tiergenetik an der University of Edinburgh.

Seine Tochter ist die Mathematikerin Dusa McDuff, 1945 als Margaret Dusa Waddington in London geboren.
