Nexera UC
Up to 94% less solvent - SFC analytics redefined
Up to 5x faster than HPLC - shorter analysis times, higher sample throughput
94% reduction in solvent consumption thanks to supercritical CO₂ as a mobile phase
Automatic online extraction and separation of solid analytes by combining SFE & SFC
Fully automatic extraction, separation and fractionation in one system
Solve complex separation problems, drastically shorten analysis times and at the same time reduce solvent consumption by up to 94% - the Nexera UC combines Supercritical Fluid Extraction (SFE) and Supercritical Fluid Chromatography (SFC) in one fully integrated system. Whether analytical separation, preparative purification or fully automated online extraction of solid samples: The modular system covers the entire workflow.
Higher resolution with shorter analysis time
Supercritical CO₂ has a lower viscosity and a higher diffusion coefficient than liquid solvents. This enables separations with high resolution and shorter analysis times compared to conventional HPLC. Isomers and chiral compounds, which are almost impossible to separate with conventional HPLC, can be reliably resolved with SFC. In addition, SFC offers orthogonal selectivity to existing reversed-phase HPLC methods and thus considerably expands the analytical spectrum.
Fully automated online SFE-SFC: sample preparation radically simplified
The integration of SFE and SFC in a continuous flow path enables fully automated extraction, separation and detection of solid samples without manual intermediate steps. While conventional sample preparation takes up to 60 minutes, the online SFE-SFC system reduces the preparation time to just 5 minutes. Application examples include the extraction of lycopene from tomato paste, the analysis of biomarkers in Dried Blood Spots (DBS) or procedures in the pharmaceutical industry that confirm that production facilities have been properly cleaned.
Precise fractionation with the LotusStream
The patented LotusStream™ fraction collector reduces eluent scattering and enables reliable small volume fractionation - even in 1.5 mL vials. Compared to conventional separators, the LotusStream™ increases the recovery rate for volatile compounds such as linalool from 78.0% to 96.7%. The stacked injection function allows continuous sample injection without waiting times, tripling sample throughput in preparative applications. From method development to fractionation, a complete workflow can be performed seamlessly on one system. Ask us for details about this unique tool.
Flexible column portfolio and intelligent method development
The Shim-pack™ UC column range includes 12 different stationary phases with varying selectivity - from octadecyl to diol and triazole to chiral phases. The columns are available in sizes from analytical to preparative and allow seamless scaling. The LabSolutions™ MD software supports automated method development with simultaneous screening of up to 12 columns and 7 modifiers as well as a visual matrix view for parameter optimization. In addition, the use of a UHPLC/SFC switching system allows screening to switch sequentially between UHPLC and SFC analysis modes.
