Genedata Begins High-Throughput Screening Collaboration with NIH Chemical Genomics Center
Genedata announces a collaboration with the newly established NIH (National Institutes of Health) Chemical genomics Center (NCGC) to integrate the Genedata Screener® software system with the NCGC's existing IT infrastructure. Genedata Screener® enables high- throughput screening data to be compared across different assays and allows high-throughput analysis of dose-response tests. These requirements are key for the NCGC 'roadmap initiative', which focuses on developing accurate bioactivity information for its library of small molecule compounds.
"We have chosen Genedata Screener® because the software has been developed and tested succesfully in a high-throughput industrial setting", says Dr. Christopher Austin, Director of the NCGC. The Center is developing a diverse library of hundreds of thousands compounds, all of which will be screened against various concentrations. "Genedata Screener® is able to analyze screening results of this complexity in high-throughput quantities, a requirement for our proposed screening paradigm."
"Genedata brings a wealth of experience, which we have gained from our development partners in the commercial screening sector", says Matthew Trunnell, Managing Director of Genedata (USA) Inc. "This project at the NCGC will set new standards for exploiting screening data in lead identification and drug development, and we will collaborate closely with the NCGC to achieve its goal of translating cheminformatics and genomics knowledge into leads for novel therapies."
