Sanofi joins digital health focused innovation program Startup Creasphere

24-Jan-2019 - Germany

Startup Creasphere, the first digital health innovation hub in Europe, has today announced a partnership with the consumer healthcare business unit of Sanofi.

Sanofi will partner with Startup Creasphere and other companies in creating the ultimate hub of digital health innovation in Europe, where forward-thinking corporations and disruptive startups can meet to pilot solutions and services, drive investments, learn and share experiences and facilitate international expansion.

Startup Creasphere is supported by Plug and Play, a global innovation platform and venture fund from Silicon Valley, specializing in the development of early-to-growth stage technology startups.

"We are excited to partner with Startup Creasphere and their network of startups to develop new and innovative healthcare solutions for our consumers, who are looking more and more to the digital space for support that goes beyond the pill," said Oliver Freichel, Corporate Vice President Strategy & Business Development & Licensing, Consumer Healthcare, Sanofi.

"Within Sanofi, we have strong expertise in bringing over the counter healthcare solutions to market, so we look forward to combining these strengths with the ingenuity and innovative mindset of startups to help consumers live healthier, fuller lives."

"We are excited to expand our existing partnership with Sanofi and welcome them as a Founding Partner into Startup Creasphere. With the addition of Sanofi to our platform, we are looking forward to exploring consumer facing technologies in the Healthcare field and providing startups from all over the world with an unparalleled opportunity for business development and investment activities with large corporations," said Saeed Amidi, Founder and CEO of Plug and Play.

Startup Creasphere will run two sessions annually where hundreds of startups from across the globe will be evaluated, with the most promising selected by corporate partners, such as Sanofi, to join each session. In their first session, Sanofi will focus on working with startups in the nutritional health and allergy space.

"As the world becomes more hectic and connected, consumers are demanding more personalized healthcare, and we have seen this come to life through concepts such as personalized vitamin regimes," said Mr. Freichel.
