cytena wins at Germany’s largest business plan competition

BioFluidix has joined forces with cytena GmbH to develop single cell printing technology for cell research and professional diagnostics. Together with researchers from the University of Freiburg, BioFluidix has founded cytena GmbH in June 2014. BioFluidix supports the cytena team to bring its unique drop-on-demand single cell printing technology to researchers and health care professionals. The high commercial and scientific potential of cytena’s technology was well received and highly appreciated by a jury of researchers, business professionals, pharma executives, entrepreneurs, policy makers and venture capitalists.

Therefore, the jury has awarded cytena the third price of the Science for Life Venture Cup 2014. The price was handed over in the premises of the Deutsche Bundesbank in Frankfurt by the minister for economic affairs of the state Hesse Tarek Al-Wazir and the General Manager, Research & Development at Sanofi-Aventis Deutschland GmbH Prof. Dr. Jochen Maas.

The CEO of cytena Jonas Schöndube says “We are happy to be a winner at the 2014 Science4Life Venture Cup! The support of BioFluidix and their unique dispensing technology has been crucial in our prototype development and will continue to help us making single cell handling easier and more cost efficient.”
