Pfizer Consumer Healthcare Canada Appoints New General Manager

Todd Magazine, President, Pfizer Consumer Healthcare, North America announced the appointment of Faissal Tahiri to General Manager, Pfizer Consumer Healthcare, Canada, based in Mississauga, Ontario. Tahiri replaces Suneet Varma, who has taken a position as Regional President, Asia-Pacific, for Pfizer Consumer Healthcare.

Tahiri first joined Wyeth, now a part of Pfizer Inc., in 2002 and has held progressive, international leadership positions in both the consumer and pharmaceutical divisions of the company. In his initial position at Wyeth's headquarters in Madison, New Jersey, Tahiri was responsible for developing a three-year plan for Wyeth's affiliate in India that included the launch of several key consumer product franchises in the market. Tahiri was then appointed to Country Manager, Wyeth Consumer Healthcare, Portugal and assumed overall responsibility for Wyeth's operations in the country. Under his leadership the affiliate achieved record results.

In 2006, Tahiri moved to France to assume the role of President, Wyeth Consumer Healthcare, France where he developed and initiated a major restructuring program and a new business model. Most recently, he worked in the pharmaceutical division of the company as Director of Vaccines & Export Operations, Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, France.

Prior to joining Wyeth, Tahiri worked at a leading global consumer products company in marketing capacities of increasing responsibility for several of their consumer brands in the United States and additional international geographies.

Tahiri holds an International MBA from the Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina and a Bachelor of Science, Business Administration from Winthrop University.
