Deutsche Gesellschaft für Zellbiologie

The DGZ is an interest group of scientists and industrial and media companies who want to support cell biology research in German-speaking countries. Cell biology as an integrative bioscience encompasses both traditional and modern methods of scientific research. The DGZ is therefore a society for zoologists, botanists, microbiologists, biochemists, biophysicists, physicians, geneticists, molecular biologists, immunologists, microbiologists and other biological researchers and interested parties. The DGZ is committed to establishing cell biology as an independent discipline at as many universities and non-university institutions as possible. It organizes and finances congresses and conferences and awards grants to student members for attending conferences. The annual conference of the DGZ - partly national, partly international - takes place in a different university city every year. The DGZ board and advisory board as well as the local organizers put together an interdisciplinary conference program that presents advances in the various biosciences.
