Mammalian suspension cultures require high throughput, effective contamination protection, and efficient use of valuable lab space. The CellXpert^® CS220 is the only CO₂ incubator shaker on the market with an integrated 180 °C sterilization routine, combining high contamination protection standards with an outstanding capacity-to-footprint ratio. This helps reduce contamination risk while increasing throughput in the laboratory.

Maximum Capacity in a Compact Footprint

The extra-large platform of the CellXpert^® CS220 offers more capacity than most other CO₂ shakers and accommodates up to 8x 5 L Corning^®/Thomson Optimum Growth® flasks, 25x 1 L, 42x 500 mL, or 102x 125 mL Erlenmeyer flasks on sticky pads. Up to three units can be stacked to further increase throughput without requiring additional lab space

Integrated 180 °C Sterilization for Improved Contamination Control

Unlike UV-based approaches that are limited to line-of-sight surfaces, the CellXpert^® CS220 uses a 180 °C / 2 h dry heat sterilization routine that reaches all chamber components and the platform, including critical areas underneath the platform. The sterilization routine is included as a standard feature and is supported by a process wizard with short, clear, step-by-step instructions as well as a downloadable performance protocol. Access to the sterilization protocol can also be restricted by user management

Hygienic Design for Fast Cleaning and Easy Access

The deep-drawn, seamless stainless steel chamber (grade 304 2B) is designed according to EN ISO 14159:2008 and contains only a few internal parts, with no drive wheel, crevices, cover sheets, cables, or heating fins inside. The platform and sub-platform can be removed in under 90 seconds for full access to all chamber walls, while the glide-up door supports fast and easy setup, cleaning, and service.

Reliable Shaking and Smart Monitoring

The patented Eppendorf X-Drive with four weight-supporting shafts is designed for 24/7 vibration-free shaking under high loads. The 7 inch color touch interface shows all setpoints and current parameters at a glance. Performance charts, events, and records can be filtered and exported quickly via the front-mounted USB port or VisioNize^® Lab Suite. Additional features such as reminders, alert functions, user management, and remote monitoring help support clear documentation and convenient operation in everyday lab work.
