Vetter builds a new location in Saarland

Vetter acquired the approximately 40-hectare industrial site in Saarlouis at the end of 2024. The decision to locate in Saarland is based on long-term strategic considerations and convincing location factors. The European Commission has approved state aid of up to 47 million euros for the extensive construction project. In the long term, Vetter sees the possible creation of up to 2,000 jobs at the site. Recruitment will begin as soon as the construction requirements have been met. Open positions will then be published on the Vetter website.

"With the construction of our new production facility in Saarlouis, we are setting an important milestone on our sustainable growth path. Long-term success comes from striking the right balance between stability and targeted expansion," emphasizes Senator h.c. Udo J. Vetter, Chairman of the Advisory Board and member of the owner family. "We have great confidence in Saarland and are proud to strengthen Germany as a business location with our investments. At the same time, we are reaffirming our long-term commitment as a family business to the global pharmaceutical market - including our ongoing investments in the USA."

The Saarland state government also welcomes this decision. "We are delighted that Vetter has chosen Saarlouis as its new production site. This is a strong signal for the future of the Saarland and a success for the efforts to locate here," said Saarland Minister President Anke Rehlinger. Minister of Economic Affairs Jürgen Barke added: "The planned investment will diversify our economy and create new jobs in a market with a future. This strengthens Saarland in the structural change and contributes to the sustainable development of our innovation and industrial landscape."
