Mongan method

A technique using hypnotherapy to train mothers for childbirth. The Mongan method is often known as hypnobirthing, and named after its founder Marie (or 'Mickey') Mongan M.Ed., M.Hy. Mongan is a hypnotherapist, Harvard Fellow, and author of "HypnoBirthing®: A Celebration Of Life", published in 1989.

The benefits of the Mongan method of HypnoBirthing are claimed to include: improved pain management, reduced need for medical intervention, a faster and more relaxed birthing process, a less traumatic entry into the world for the child.

Work is closely compared to that of Michelle Leclaire O'Neill, another leading practitioner and author on the subject.
