Lakeridge Health Corporation

The Lakeridge Health Corporation is the governing body of hospitals in the Ontario towns of Oshawa, Whitby, Scugog and Clarington. The organization was created in November 1997 to oversee Memorial Hospital Bowmanville, North Durham Health Services, Oshawa General Hospital and Whitby General Hospital.

The corporation was responsible for the amalgamation of Durham health services under the Common Sense Revolution of the Mike Harris government. It consolidated their holdings into three hospitals - Lakeridge Health Bowmanville, Lakeridge Health Oshawa and Lakeridge Health Port Perry. Whitby General was closed and replaced it with a specialty centre, Lakeridge Health Whitby.
