Global Health Security Initiative



The Global Health Security Initiative (GHSI) is an international partnership between countries in order to supplement and strengthen their preparedness to repond to threats of biological, chemical, radio-nuclear terrorism (CBRN) and pandemic influenza.

History

The Global Health Security Initiative was launched in November 2001 by Canada, the European Commission, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, the United Kingdom and the United States. The World Health Organization (WHO) acts as a technical advisor to the GHSI.
