Burnet Institute



The Burnet Institute is Australia's largest communicable diseases research institute. It was founded in Melbourne in 1986 and named after Australian Nobel laureate Frank Macfarlane Burnet.

The institute in one of 12 Collaborating Centres approved by the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS and the only medical research institute that receives funds from AusAID.
