Idaho Technology

Idaho Technology, Inc. is a privately held biotechnology company based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Founded in 1990, Idaho Technology licensed a pioneering technology from the University of Utah for the world's fastest DNA detection device. Researchers, medical technicians, law enforcement officers, and even soldiers in the field use the company's devices to detect or study disease-causing organisms.

Their some services include:

  • Biological weapons detection system
  • Freeze-Dried Reagents and Sample Preparation Kits
  • Food and water safety

One interesting accomplishment is their anthrax detection kit. With the efforts of the United States Army, Navy and Air Force their laboratories produced a kit that narrowed the time until detection down to 1 hour. The prior method, such as growing a culture can take as long as several days for results. On 12 October 2007, this kit won FDA approval.[1]
