Bio-Link
Perfectly reproducible UV irradiation for DNA and RNA crosslinking
LTF Labortechnik GmbH & Co. KG
Automatic irradiation stop when target energy is reached - independent of UV source fluctuations
Overall measurement across all UV tubes for consistent, reproducible results
Wavelength change (254/312/365 nm) by tube replacement - no new device required
Three wavelengths, microprocessor-controlled - flexible for a wide range of blot applications
The Bio-Link UV crosslinker from LTF Labortechnik is a microprocessor-controlled UV irradiation system designed for precise and reproducible results in molecular biology applications. Whether crosslinking nucleic acids on membranes or eliminating PCR contaminations - the Bio-Link delivers defined UV energy doses reliably and user-friendly.
Microprocessor control for reproducible irradiation cycles
An integrated, microprocessor-controlled UV sensor continuously monitors the UV light emission. Irradiation stops automatically as soon as the accumulated energy corresponds to the programmed energy value. This means that irradiation cycles are perfectly reproducible - regardless of fluctuations in the intensity of the UV source. The sensor is positioned above a light well at the top of the irradiation chamber so that the total intensity of all five UV tubes is recorded - not just a single one. This significantly increases the consistency of the measurement.
Flexible wavelengths and easy conversion
The Bio-Link is available in three UV wavelengths: 254 nm (UVC), 312 nm (UVB) and 365 nm (UVA). The device can be converted to a different wavelength and recalibrated by simply replacing the UV tubes - without having to buy a new device. The UV source consists of five tubes with 8 watts each for a total output of 80 W.
Precise irradiation control and extensive pre-settings
Irradiation is controlled either in energy units (joules/cm²) or time units (seconds).
Nine presets for UV energy and nine for exposure time enable a fast workflow. A preset program for 0.120 J/cm² optimizes nucleic acid immobilization. The last UV setting used is automatically saved.
Areas of application and robust design
The Bio-Link is suitable for a wide range of molecular biological and biochemical applications.
The spacious irradiation chamber made of stainless steel (internal dimensions 290 x 175 mm) offers sufficient space for various sample formats. The UV sensor is protected by a quartz disk, the keypad consists of a resistant, touch-sensitive surface. A UV-impermeable observation window, automatic restart after a power failure and a large LED display round off the features.
