Liza B. Martinez




Dr. Liza B. Martinez is a hearing sign language linguist who currently serves as Director of the Philippine Deaf Resource Center which she founded. Martinez has done research on Filipino deaf history and Filipino Sign Language.

Martinez has hold post at Gallaudet University, and serves in various capacities with the Department of Linguistics, University of the Philippines and National Technical Institute for the Deaf. She moved back to The Philippines to engage Deaf research and deaf advocacy with Philippine deaf community.
