International Journal of Medical Sciences is an Open Access medical journal published by Ivyspring International Publisher. The scope of the journal covers various areas of basic medical sciences, clinical and experimental research related to the studies of human diseases. Articles include original research papers, reviews and short research communications. The Journal aims at rapid publication of high quality medical research results while maintaining rigorous peer review process. Full texts of published articles appear in PubMed Central, the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) digital archive of biomedical journal literature, and abstracts are indexed in PubMed.

Current Editor-in-Chief is Dr. Dennis D. Taub of Laboratory of Immunology, National Institute on Aging, NIH.

To cater for international audiences and promote international collaboration, submissions that present results of collaborative research from more than one countries are encouraged in the journal.

A unique feature of IJMS is that the authors can also publish a biography together with the paper, with information such as MD/PhD degree, past and present positions, research interests, awards, etc. This increases the profile of the authors. It has been found that this section of author's biography is well received by both readers and authors. A press release to media can also be launched for papers that present significant and interesting results.
