Founded in 2011, Nestlé Health Science is the first new generation health science company. Our focus is on advancing the importance of nutritional therapies to fundamentally change the future of healthcare management for consumers, patients and our healthcare partners. By investing in innovation and using cutting-edge science, we aim to establish a new industry based on absolutely safe nutritional therapies that bridge the gap between the food industry and the pharmaceutical industry, creating improvements in quality of life and proven clinical and health economic value.

Nestlé Health Science is a global company headquartered in Lausanne, Switzerland, with approximately 3,000 employees worldwide. The company was initially based on the HealthCare Nutrition business of the Nestlé Group. Through our portfolio of consumer (self-pay) and medical nutrition (essentially prescription-based) brands, we already meet the specific nutritional needs of nearly two and a half million people every day and tens of millions more annually. To build a transformational pipeline, we are actively engaged in identifying and commercializing fundamental scientific advances in nutrient-based manipulation of disease at the cellular level that promise greater therapeutic impact. Our activities to date include a number of acquisitions and investments: Vitaflo - portfolio of medical nutrition solutions for metabolic disorders (particularly inborn errors of metabolism); Prometheus Laboratories - diagnostics and pharmaceuticals in gastroenterology (GI) and oncology; Pamlab - prescribable medical nutrition for the brain and metabolic disorders; Nutrition Science Partners (joint venture) - investigating the potential of botanical-based nutrients focused on gastrointestinal disorders; and Accera (minority interest) - supporting studies of a nutritional therapy for Alzheimer's patients. With direct access to the research of the Nestlé Institute of Health Sciences, which was jointly launched with our company, and the Nestlé Group's extensive expertise in taste and nutrition, we are ideally placed to realize our ambitious goals through innovative nutritional therapies.
