In 2003, scientists from Germany involved in stem cell research initiated the founding of the German Society for Stem Cell Research (GSZ). The society operates as a non-profit association, is financially and politically independent and has been registered in the register of associations at Cologne District Court under the number VR 14639 since November 4, 2004. Purpose of the company The purpose of the company is to promote stem cell research. In order to achieve this purpose, the association will promote stem cell research in research and academic teaching within the framework of the available funds, support the training of young scientists, participate in the exchange of scientists at national and international level, support publications and organize conferences and seminars. Network The German Society for Stem Cell Research is intended to structure the previously loose network of scientists throughout Germany into a platform for stem cell research and to create a competent and independent advisor for all questions relating to stem cell research. Members of the society are renowned researchers and teachers at German universities and non-university institutions. What does the GSZ stand for The German Society for Stem Cell Research e.V. (GSZ) stands for the promotion of research on embryonic, fetal and adult stem cells. It represents a forum that bundles and structures the expertise of reputable scientists for the purpose of national and international progress in stem cell research. As an independent scientific society, it sees itself as a competent partner in all relevant questions of stem cell research.
