"We make medicine" is our motto, "We make medicine better" is our claim. Our university hospital is characterized by excellent research and teaching. Our doctors and scientists develop new diagnostic and treatment procedures, while experienced lecturers train the next generation of doctors. Patients benefit directly from the findings of state-of-the-art medicine in clinical studies. The latest medical technology in operating theaters and intensive care units improves the results of patient care, which is also based on safety, quality, ethical responsibility and care. Around 500,000 patients are treated each year at our two sites, Campus Großhadern and Innenstadt. Our hospital is divided into 29 specialist clinics, eleven institutes and seven departments. In addition, 49 interdisciplinary centers work together across disciplinary boundaries. In addition to the outpatient care facilities, just over 2,000 beds are available for partial and full inpatient treatment. 1,700 doctors and 3,200 nursing staff are directly involved in the care of our patients. Together with the Medical Faculty of the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, we are one of the leading medical locations both nationally and internationally.
