The Max Planck Institute for the Science of Human History has set itself the goal of comprehensively researching the history of mankind using state-of-the-art analytical and genetic methods. In order to answer fundamental questions about the biological and cultural development of humans from the Stone Age to the present day, scientists from various disciplines such as genetics, linguistics, archaeology, anthropology and history work together to develop innovative methods, particularly in the fields of gene sequencing, language documentation, bioinformatics and phylogeography.
