Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute

The Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute or VCCRI is a scientific institution based in Darlinghurst, New South Wales, Australia. The institute opened in 1994, three years after the death of renowned heart surgeon Dr Victor Chang. The Institute is affiliated with the University of New South Wales, and is a part of the St Vincent's Hospital, Sydney campus.

The VCCRI focuses on basic, pre-clinical, and clinical research into heart disease and cardiovascular biology. As of 2006, the VCCRI comprises 11 basic science laboratories, and three clinical research laboratories under the auspices of eight research programs.

The Institute is an independent research facility. Its Board of Directors is chaired by the Hon. Neville Wran AC, QC, former Premier of New South Wales.
