Statprobe

Statprobe was a privately-held pharmaceutical company headquartered in Ann Arbor, Michigan. It was founded in 1988 and was acquired in 2004.

History

Statprobe was co-founded by Lora H. Schwab and Mark Becker. Becker and Schwab were Ph.D. biostatisticians from nearby Warner Lambert Parke Davis (later Pfizer) in Ann Arbor when they founded Statprobe in 1988. The name "Statprobe" was a combination of "statistics" and "probability".

Statprobe expanded to San Diego, California; Seattle, Washington; Lexington, Kentucky; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Dublin, Ohio; and Research Triangle Park, North Carolina (Statprobe Technologies) by 2000. The company later acquired a clinical monitoring organization near Nashville, thus expanding to Tennessee.

Statprobe was acquired by i3 Research in 2004. The spelling of the company name was changed from all caps (STATPROBE) to mixed case (i3 Statprobe).

Fields

Statprobe's core services were CRA Monitoring, Data Management, Statistics, Programming and Medical Writing and Project Management. Statprobe focused heavily on quality assurance and statistical computer programming. Statprobe also provided on-site employees via a separate business division.
