Proglucagon



Proglucagon is a precursor of glucagon, and several other components. It is generated in the alpha cells of the pancreas, and it consists of the following:

  • Glicentin
    • Glicentin-related pancreatic polypeptide (GRPP)
    • Oxyntomodulin
  • major proglucagon fragment (MPGF)
    • GLP-1
    • intervening peptide 2
    • GLP-2
