NBDE



NBDE stands for National Board Dental Examination.

There are two parts in this examination.

  • Part-1 consists of Basic Science with topics including Human Anatomy/Histology, Biochemistry/Physiology, Microbiology/Pathology and Dental Anatomy and Occlusion. Part I consists of 400 multiple choice questions administered on computers.
  • Part-2 deals with major dental subjects.

This examination is required in order to get licensure in United States or Canada or to advance the studies in any of the specialities after completing Doctor of Dental Surgery or Doctor of Dental Medicine. Foreign-trained dentists also have to take this test in order to get admission in one of the Advanced Standing programs in any US dental school.
