Michael Hebranko

Michael Hebranko (b. May 14, 1953[1]) is a person suffering from an extreme case of morbid obesity, known to be among the heaviest men in the world.[2]

After a stay at the St. Luke’s Hospital, New York, with the help of the dieter and exercise coach Richard Simmons in 19 months he dropped his weight from 907 to 198 pounds and waist size from 110 in. to 36 in.[1] and was recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records for the highest recorded weight loss in 1990. (In fact, he lost some weight from surgical removal of fat.[citation needed]) After that he toured the United States lecturing about his experiences and advocating dieting and exercise, appeared in infomercials as a promoter of Richard Simmons.[3] and appeared at TV talk shows (The Howard Stern Show (1990), Half Ton Man (2005)[1] ).

Unfortunately 7 years afterward he gained up to 1,000 lbs[2] and had to be repeatedly hospitalized to the Brookhaven Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.[4][3] In June 1999 he had his peak weight of 1,100 lbs.[1]
