DUF1220DUF1220 is a protein domain found within a number of proteins including the protein produced by gene MGC8902 that is repeated more often in human DNA than in the other primate genomes. Its function is still unknown. Humans carry 212 copies of DUF1220, chimps 37 copies, monkeys 30 copies, mice and rats each have a single copy of the domain. References
