Coronary stent



Coronary stents are stents used in coronary arteries as part of an angioplasty procedure to improve blood flow.

Additional recommended knowledge

The first type were bare metal stents.

More recent are drug-eluting stents, eg Cypher and Taxus.

In development are biodegradable coronary stents.
