Portrait ZoBio is developing innovative methods using Nuclear Magnetic Resonance to screen compound libraries for binding to a broad range of pharmacological targets.
Our aim is to be capable of rapidly generating high affinity, high specificity lead compounds with optimal drug-like properties for targets with great pharmacological value but for which developing drugs using presently available technologies would be difficult or impossible.
ZoBio has been recently spun out from Leiden University, The Netherlands with the aim of developing and commercialising technology to enable new forms of pharmaceutical drug development.
The founding team consists of: Gregg Siegal, Ph.D. – Dr. Siegal is the Chief Scientific Officer of ZoBio and the original developer of the TINS technology. Dr. Siegal also heads a laboratory at Leiden University whose research is mainly focussed on developing new methods for drug discovery.
Robert Heetebrij, Ph.D. – Dr. Heetebrij is the Chief Operation Officer at ZoBio. In addition to a background in bio-inorganic chemistry, Dr. Heetebrij brings more than 7 years R&D and managerial experience in the biotech industry.
