SIRS-Lab produces molecular diagnostic systems to identify life-threatening infections. The main objective is to enable early and targeted antibiotic therapy of sepsis, the leading cause of death in hospitals. With expert knowledge in critical care medicine, microbiology, assay design, and gene expression, SIRS-Lab builds a unique diagnostic portfolio.

SIRS-Lab's new development is the pathogen detection system VYOO. The PCR based test detects 40 bacterial and fungal species that cause life-threatening infections. Simultaneously, 5 important antibiotic resistances are identified. The results of 16 patients per user are provided within 6 hours.
The core innovation behind VYOO is LOOXSTER, an innovative kit system for sample preparation. LOOXSTER specifically concentrates bacterial and fungal DNA from complex samples optimizing the ratio pro pathogen DNA. Thus, the sensitivity of the subsequent pathogen amplification step is significantly enhanced.
