Fast and Effective Water Purification for General Laboratory Applications
arium® EDI 61215 from Sartorius Stedim Biotech: ASTM Type 2 Pure Water System

In modern laboratories, there is a continually growing demand for ultrapure water. Common applications, such as preparing buffer solutions and culture media and supplying feed water to laboratory equipment like autoclaves and dishwashers, require the highest quality of reagent grade water that complies with international standards.
The requirements placed on water purification systems are very strict, while users are just as concerned about low consequential costs as they are about having equipment that allows simple and fast handling.

The compact arium® EDI 61215 laboratory water purification system from Sartorius Stedim Biotech meets all the requirements that modern, efficiently running water purification systems should fulfill. The new arium® EDI 61215 guarantees constant water quality with a typical conductivity below 0.1 µS/cm. It delivers a product flow rate up to 15 l/h and achieves a retention rate of up to 99% for ions, dissolved organics, bacteria and viruses with its automatic RO (reverse osmosis) membrane-backflush and electrochemical desalination technology. The arium® system's purification procedure combines reverse osmosis, softening and electrochemical desalination, thereby enabling a nearly maintenance-free and inexpensive supply of ASTM type 2 water. The continuous automatic regeneration of the EDI stack eliminates the need to replace any depleted ion-exchange resins.

The product water is stored in the optionally supplied pressurized tank (with capacities of 30, 70 or 100 liters), which provides ASTM type 2 water at up to 3.0 bar to the point of use. This unique feature generates an optimal feed rate for supplying all general lab equipment. Therefore, this eliminates the need for an additional distribution pump. The laboratory water purification system additionally features a four-line LCD along with a number of prompt-driven alarm and service functions.

This user-friendly display shows the product and feed water quality, retention rating of RO module, tank level, temperature, etc., lets the analyst view all the critical system parameters fast and conveniently. With all these modern features and options, the new arium EDI 61215 offers every quality-conscious lab the ideal water purification system.
