High throughput bioreactor for process/media optimization: CultiFlask 50 disposable bioreactor from Sartorius
|
Sartorius AG, Goettingen, presents the CultiFlask 50 disposable bioreactor as a versatile tool for high throughput media/process optimisation.
The CultiFlask 50 disposable bioreactor matches the size of a common 50 ml centrifuge tube. Each bioreactor comes with a screw cap with 5 holes to allow for optimised gas transfer. The caps contain a PTFE membrane to serve as a sterile barrier and to minimize liquid loss by evaporation. The CultiFlask 50 disposable bioreactors are designed to be used in an incubation shaker (humidity, carbon dioxide and temperature controlled, allowing regulation of shaking speed and amplitude), permitting passive mass transfer to the cell culture medium by the shaking mechanism.
Convenient to use
The unsophisticated design of the CultiFlask 50 disposable bioreactor makes it perfectly suited for high throughput applications. Medium change and similar handling steps are easily performed due to the compatibility of the tubes with standard lab centrifuges. Of striking evidence though is the applicability as a high throughput bioreactor system (HTBR): the number of vessels running in parallel is limited only by the capacity of the respective incubation shaker. The CultiFlask 50 disposable bioreactor from Sartorius represents a cost-effective and easy to use method for parallel cultivation of 100 – 500 or even more samples. The process of media optimization is reasonably accelerated.
