Protein removal from HPLC samples 3 times faster!

Whatman Mini-UniPrep(tm) (MUP) filter units provide a highly efficient and easy to use alternative for removing unwanted proteins prior to HPLC/MS analysis. This method, in which proteins are removed from plasma, serum, whole blood or other biological fluids by means of acetonitrile precipitation and pressure filtration, is particularly appropriate for the analytical characterisation of interesting substances in pharmaceutical research.

The unique design of the filter unit allows sample preparation in a single sample tube. The MUP filter unit comprises a sample chamber, an integrated filter, which separates the sample chamber from the filtrate chamber, and a septum, via which the sample can be directly taken from the filtrate chamber for subsequent analysis. Handling the MUP filter units is extremely easy, and the dimensions ensure compatibility with the most common autosamplers. This saves not only time and money, but also reduces the risk of secondary contamination of the sample to be analysed, which exists in standard centrifugation methods as a result of the manual transfer step.

Benefits:

  • Time and money saving removal of proteins
  • No secondary contamination due to all-in-one design of the Mini-UniPrep device
