is the Analytical Plus, the classical analytical balance of Ohaus. The "AP" like it is called briefly, has virtually asserted itself 20 years unchanged on the market. Thus there is hardly another analytical balance, which found more spreading in the laboratories of this world. The legendary reliability of the AP is continued in the Ohaus Discovery, and sets new standards for price/performance ratio within their respective classes.
This new family of Analytical balances offers semi micro weighing precision, modern ergonomic design, as well as a long list of standard features. Ohaus’ combination of weighing performance, ease of use, and advanced applications make the Discovery line ideal for a broad range of uses from basic weighing, to more advanced applications such as parts counting, pipette calibration, density determination, statistical analysis, percent weighing and dynamic weighing.
The Ohaus Discovery series features four analytical models with capacities up to 310g by 0.1mg with a FineRange™ model that offers 10 microgram readability. Discovery is perfect for university research, pharmaceutical research and drug discovery, and general lab applications.
The Ohaus Discovery series is designed to offer simple operation and functionality by utilizing SmarText™, Ohaus’ intuitive man/machine interface first introduced to the market in the Ohaus Adventurer Pro. The simple four-button, text prompt driven operation allows users to easily make balance changes with as few steps as possible, while also displaying detailed application information such as average piece weight.
Discovery’s repeatability and linearity performance is 2 times better than most semi-micro balances in its class. Glass and steel construction resists the effects of static and corrosion increasing balance stability and accuracy, as well as extending product life. A standard in-use cover and all glass inside base protect Discovery balances from spills and provide protection from dirty or corrosive environments. A weigh-below hook facilitates easy and accurate density and gravity determination. The Discovery also offers a standard RS232 port that connects directly to printers for outputting of GLP data, or for connection to any PC.
All Discovery models come with Ohaus’ Advanced AutoCal™ dual mass automatic internal calibration system. Advanced AutoCal ensures weighing accuracy by automatically calibrating the balance with a three-point linearization any time there is a temperature change large enough to affect weighing accuracy. In addition, users can manually begin the AutoCal™ process prior to use without the need for external weights.
