Dr. Lerche KG offers novel Genomic DNA Purification Kits, innovative tools for fast, easy and reliable isolation of genomic DNA from different biological sources. The kits enable a one-step-procedure for isolation of genomic DNA also from sources with high content of interfering substances such as phenolic substances and polysaccharides.
The innovative technology is based on special porous microcapsules, which allow for an effective size exclusion chromatographic separation of very large molecules. Do to this new approach - size exclusion preparation - genomic DNA can be easily isolated directly from crude cell extracts and separated from all other components of the cell extract with smaller molecular mass (e.g. proteins, polysaccharides, salts and other low MW substances) in a one-step operation. This innovative method doesn’t need additional steps like binding, washing and multiple centrifugation and pipetting, as it is necessary in other commonly used techniques, which are based on precipitation or adsorption.
The DNA Isolation Unit is designed in a micro-column format with a pipette-tip shape. The column is filled with a chromatographic bed consisting of packed microcapsules. The column outlet ensures a minimal dead volume and a tight connection to the additional concentrating tube. This tube allows for the online concentration and collection of the eluted pure DNA. Just add the cell extract onto the column, draw elution buffer through the column and elute, collect and concentrate isolated DNA at the same time. The „Genomic DNA Purification Kit“ provides you fast and easily with high-quality genomic DNA for PCR and other applications also from smallest sample amounts (e.g. 3 to 25 mg fresh mass).
The innovative separation technology is applicable for isolation of genomic DNA from various biological sources. Specialised kits with optimal buffers for cell digestion and DNA elution are available for plant and animal cells and tissues and microorganisms.
