Genencor opens India blending plant
New operation extends commitment in Indian market

13 Mar 2008 - Genencor, A division of Danisco A/S, announced the opening of an office and a manufacturing facility plant in India. The manufacturing facility located in Haryana, and the Sales Office in Mumbai are part of an ongoing expansion of Genencor's established presence in India, aiming to provide dedicated and tailor-made support to our local customers and deliver products specific to the needs of the Indian industries.

The plant in Haryana will make dedicated enzyme blends for the Indian markets in grain processing, textiles, laundry detergents, fuel ethanol, animal feed and food & beverages. This investment consists of labs and offices, and will employ more than 20 people in India at the start. The Technical Service lab and staff will be able to test products in the local conditions and materials, develop new product formulations, while ensuring immediate and local support to our customers. More importantly, the India team will be able to tap into the expertise of Genencor's global Innovation and Technology group towards developing products that meet critical local needs.

"Genencor has ambitious plans for India, and has been increasing its presence and investing here to satisfy growing market opportunities for the past few years," says Dr. Raj Lad, Senior Director, India Market Development. "The new plant provides strong and reliable local support to our customers, and is a first step in a series of developments that will enhance our commitment and capabilities in this exciting market."
